Several years ago, I taught a student whose father was tragically killed in a car wreck. Her brother, a few years younger, was in the same class as one of my sons.
After about a week, my son, a 4th grader at the time, came home one day and announced to me in a mocking voice that "Joseph thinks he's so special!" I asked "Why?" My son says, "He came back to school bragging today about having his dad in a vase on their mantle!!"
